[GMW #3309] Nurture Consciousness For Proper Governance Of Our Earth And Humanity   Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 3500
~ Idea 3703-7 ~
One more of the 7 progresses in consciousness gained by the human species since World War II:
7. 2001: all the preceding leads to a new consciousness: the consciousness of the urgent need for the proper governance of our Earth and humanity: World Peoples' Assembly in Samoa calling for a world United Nations Parliament; initiatives by many non-governmental organizations and private conferences on that subject.

All the above is reflected in the celebration of a first World Consciousness Day on Earth Day 2001, 20th of March. It speaks well for further human progress and the survival and preservation of the Earth.

After consciousness must now come action.

Volume II The Art of Personal Happiness
Chapter 2, Of Happiness
The big firms sell happiness for their profit. The alcohol and cigarette producers associate their products with happy scenes and joyful events: baptism, marriage, social gatherings, tourism, love, even nature; one sees healthy young men and women smoke and drink in the most beautiful sceneries of Earth.

It is essential to develop a literature which will de-hook happiness from drugs, alcohol and smoking and associate it instead with a clean life which alone allows the flowering and fulfillment of the miracle of life.

Heart Quotes
The place to improve the world is first in one's own heart and head and hands, and then work outward from there.
