[GMW #4500] A Miraculous And Incredibly Beautiful Earth For Humans To Nurture & Treasure As If They Were Beautiful Gods

[GMW #4500] A Miraculous And Incredibly Beautiful Earth For Humans To Nurture & Treasure As If They Were Beautiful Gods Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000

~ Idea 4886 ~
God made only one mistake when he created the Earth: it was to create man. Of course he had an excuse, it was the last day of his hard labor to create a miraculous, incredibly beautiful paradise Earth and He was tired.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II - The Art of Personal Happy Living
Chapter 7 - Of Optimism

Pessimism and optimism have both their nutrients: pessimism seeks everything bad and wrong to feed itself; optimism looks out for everything good and right for nourishment.

[GMW #2926] Universities To Study What Humans & Other Species Have In Common

[GMW #2926] Universities To Study What Humans & Other Species Have In Common
Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 3500
~ Idea 3320 ~

When we look at us human beings we see that we are all made of intakes and outflows: intakes of air, nourishment, water, sight, hearing; outflows of speaking, breath, liquids and wastes. And we see that many animals around us and also vegetations have similar intakes and outflows. Many species have eyes, ears, a mouth or a beak to take nourishment and to drink. Trees and plants are getting intakes of solar energy through their leaves, and liquids and nourishment through their roots. They have no eyesight, no hearing, they have no voice but they have perhaps other invisible ones. I wonder if there exist across the board sciences which study all the eye sights, all the ways of nourishment, all the hearings, all the brains, all the sounds emitted by humans and animals and so on and so forth. This could be the great world comprehensive biology of the Earth. There should be universities specializing in what we have in common with, and different from all other species. The results might be wonders. I apologize if there are already such universities. I would like to hear more about them.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume I Chapter 5 The Miracle of Individual Life
O God, what means the breathtaking, fathomless mystery of life? Please tell us.

Three Lessons from a Kindness Challenge
In this first person account, author Thao Phi reflects on some of the unique and important things she discovered after partaking in a 30-day kindness challenge. For one, she learned that people must be courageous in their acts of kindness to strangers, and secondly, to never overlook doing good deeds to those that are closest to you. And last, but certainly not least, make sure you are kind to the one person you know best -- yourself. For as she came to understand, it is not only okay to be kind to yourself, but it is at times even necessary.

[GMW #2842] Peoples' Assemblies An Element Of World Democracy

[GMW #2842] Peoples' Assemblies An Element Of World Democracy

Idea Dream -Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 3500
~ Idea 3237 ~

I am so glad that the Conference of the World Peoples' Assembly in Samoa is giving birth to numerous local Peoples' Assemblies around the world.  More than a thousand of them are expected to be created in 2000 and 2001.  What a great new element of world democracy this will represent!

"What an incredible globe this is, turning at 1,666 kilometers per hour with so much life on it, with people standing on it, their heads pointing like antennae into all the directions of the universe, with leaves, plants, and algae avidly absorbing the sun's energy and giving us oxygen to breathe and nourishment.  And to think that we are the only planet of our sun, and perhaps of the entire universe, to possess life!  How can we not stand in endless gratitude and awe before such a miracle?"

How to Train Your Brain to See What Others Don't

Remember the last time you had an 'aha' moment? The pleasure of a new and profound insight can leave us with that feeling of freshness and awe at witnessing something for the very first time. It is a deeply satisfying in itself and needs no external rewards. Cognitive psychologist, Gary Klein researches the science behind these epiphanies and shares his findings so that we can cultivate habits that make our mind fertile for such insights and realizations. "So do we have any control over these insights, and is there a way to train the brain to become more attuned to them? Insights may be unexpected, but we can actually teach ourselves to see connections that others may never notice," he says. This article shares five key things you should know about insight and how to invite it into your life. { read more }

All governments of the world should adopt a law that on at least one day each month the newspapers would not be allowed to have more than one page. This would save sizable forests in the world, diminish trash by huge amounts and provide more oxygen.

Which will be the first government to do it?

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the member countries of the European Union should introduce a resolution in the UN General Assembly asking that the UN should create a World Court of Human Rights, following and expanding on the example of the European Union which has created a European Court of Human Rights.

~~~~ Good News of the Day:
What do Elizabeth Taylor, Roald Dahl, Marilyn Monroe, Neil Armstrong and Barack Obama have in common, besides being famous? Each of them wrote touching letters of gratitude, printed here in their original writing. For example, once upon a time (1989), a little girl named Amy sent a bottle of colored water, oil and glitter to Roald Dahl, who knew right away that this was a dream in a bottle inspired by his book, The BFG. In response, the author penned this short note to his 7-year-old fan: "I must write a special letter and thank you for the dream in the bottle. You are the first person in the world who has sent me one of these and it intrigued me very much. I also liked the dream..." [More]
