I am so happy that the Earth Council created by the second World Conference on the Environment in Rio de Janeiro has moved to the University for Peace because the two working together will be able to give a new message to the world, namely that we must absolutely accelerate and attain total peace in order to devote all our efforts to the preservation, survival and beautification of the Earth.  And what a symbol it is to be located in one of the first demilitarized countries on Earth! Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume III Chapter 2 The Miracle of Life Giving It is not only the world-wide demand for greater justice, physical well-being and education which is at the root of the present world crises.  Even deeper is the process of planetization, a major phase in the Earth's and humanity's evolution. * UN News: UN Chronicle, United Nations News Service, UN Wire Archive References: Earth Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights Rights of: Children,Women, IndigenousPeople To Be Written: Rights of Nature, Birds, Animals, Fish, etc. WORD FOR THE DAY Death can come at any minute, in any way. We do not know what is in store tomorrow, or, whether there is a tomorrow, or even a tonight! But still, we have the golden present. Now we are alive and kicking. What should we do now? [GMW #1907] Proper Earth Government And Administration For The Well-Being And Justice Of All Humans And Earth

[GMW #1907] Proper Earth Government And Administration For The Well-Being And Justice Of All Humans And Earth Tuesday 2 March 2010, Editor: Easy | RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese | Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1 to 500 Introduction For Ideas 301 to 400 1.  Convening by the UN of a world conference on proper Earth government and administration Since despite the end of the cold war, international and internal conflicts have increased from 38 in 1991 to 47 in 1995, and the number of sovereign nations members of the UN has increased from 160 to 185; since the duplication of government expenditures, national institutions and bureaucracies between 185 nation-states has reached staggering proportions, and military and armaments expenditures have barely diminished since the end of the cold war; we must declare the absolute necessity to consider and adopt new ways for proper world government and administration for the sake of the survival of the planet and the peace, well-being and justice of all humans. The Independent World Commission on Global Governance headed by the Prime Minister of Sweden, Mr. Ingvar Carlsson, has opened the door to the consideration of new ways of properly managing and administering our planet and human society.  It should lead to the holding by the United Nations of a world conference on the proper government and administration of the Earth, to permit the adoption of a new system as we enter the 21st century, a system infinitely better than the United Nations. The pathbreaking Law of the Seas, adopted by nations for the proper administration of the seas and oceans, a commons representing 71% of the planet's surface, could provide an example for the adoption of a Law of the Earth.  We owe it to the Earth and to humanity. [GMW #1765] Deciding To Protect & Nuture The Quality & Conditions Of Life On Earth With Compassion, Love And Universal Responsibility Toward The World

[GMW #1765] Deciding To Protect & Nuture The Quality And Conditions Of Life On Earth With Compassion, Love & Universal Responsibility Toward The Whole World Monday 27 July 2009, Editor: Easy | RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese | Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1 to 500 DECLARATION OF HUMAN RESPONSIBILITIES FOR Peace and Sustainable Development CHAPTER III. THE ALTERNATIVES FACING MANKIND AND UNIVERSAL RESPONSIBILITY Article 6. Responsibility is an inherent aspect of any relation in which human beings are involved. This capacity to act responsibly in a conscious, independent, unique and personal manner is an inalienable creative quality of every human being. There is no limit to its scope or depth other than that established by each person for himself. The more it is accepted and exercised, the more it will grow and strengthen. Article 7. Of all living creatures, human beings have the unique capacity to decide consciously whether they are protecting or harming the quality and conditions of life on Earth. In reflecting on the fact that they belong to the natural world and occupy a special position as participants in the evolution of natural processes, people can develop, on the basis of selflessness, compassion and love, a sense of universal responsibility towards the world as an integral whole, towards the protection of nature and the promotion of the highest potential for change, with a view to creating those conditions which will enable them to achieve the highest level of spiritual and material well-being. Article 8. At this critical time in history, the alternatives facing mankind are crucial. In directing their actions towards the attainment of progress in society, human beings have frequently forgotten the inherent role they play in the natural world and the indivisible human family, and their basic needs for a healthy life. Excessive consumption, abuse of the environment and aggression between peoples have brought the natural processes of the Earth to a critical stage which threatens their survival. By reflecting on these issues, individuals will be capable of discerning their responsibility and thus reorienting their conduct towards peace and sustainable development. * Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume III Chapter 7 Return To Mother Earth We seldom think of our death. There is a great lesson of nature in that: we are not supposed to think of adversities, of negative courses, of decay. The life forces push us constantly forward. God and nature want us to consider death as a positive element. * UN News Sources - UN Chronicle, United Nations News Service, UN Wire News Archive New: References: Earth Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights Rights of: Children, Women, Indigenous People To Be Written: Rights of Nature, Birds, Animals, Fish, etc. The future is not some place we are going, but one we are creating. The paths are not to be found, but made. And the activity of making them changes both the maker and their destination. [GMW #1630] Cooperating Nations Of The UN Creating Great World Engineering Projects Increasing The Well-Being Of Humanity And Harmonious Nature

[GMW #1630] Cooperating Nations Of The UN Creating Great World Engineering Projects Increasing The Well-Being Of Humanity And Harmonious Functioning Of Nature Wednesday 31 December 2008, Editor: Easy | RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese | Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1 to 500 ~ Idea 78 ~ 26 September 1994 I hope that cooperating nations in the UN will consider a number of great world engineering projects which would increase the well-being of humanity, the productivity of the world economy and the harmonious functioning of nature. During my years of UN service I have collected dozens of them. * Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume III Chapter 4 The Highpoint of Human Life, Youth There is nothing more beautiful than to see young people dance, from the blonde, heavenly youth of the North to the dark, fiery youth of the South. O youth! Of all the living beings, you are the most needed. The adults and older people who look down to you so assured, so wise, so secure, live mostly on past capital: they need from you the light, the dreams, the visions, the drive, the enthusiasm, the belief in life and in the future they often no longer possess. This is what they really seek when they turn to you or hire you. * UN News Sources - UN Chronicle, United Nations News Service, UN Wire News Archive New: References: Earth Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights Rights of: Children, Women, Indigenous People To Be Written: Rights of Nature, Birds, Animals, Fish, etc. Most of All, They Taught Me Happiness by Dr. Robert Muller To order: Phone: 800-727-2782 Email: Becky@ParaPublishing.com Fax: 805-968-1379 Mail: Amare Media c/o Para Publishing, PO Box 8206 Santa Barbara, CA 93118-8206.
