[GMW #2076] Shifting From Old Ideals Toward International, Global Ideals Tuesday 2 November 2010, Editor: Easy | RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | Biography | World Core Curriculum | Store | Facebook | Twitter | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese | Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1 to 500 ~ Idea 1222 ~    14 November 1997 When I look back over my long life, read my journals and these ideas, I am becoming optimistic.  There is definitely a basic shift from old ideals towards international, global ones.  Leaders of nations do not dream anymore of waging wars and winning territory from a neighbor.  We have been able to reduce the population explosion by 2.2 billion people in fifty years, to solve colonialism, apartheid, racism, end the cold war and eradicate major epidemics.  The militaries themselves are beginning to doubt their future.  Old problems like poverty, illiteracy, the population increase, the environmental deterioration, are still with us, some even worsening.  But these too we can solve in the next century if there is the will.  Please, dear readers, work on them, do not remain impassive, take one of these causes which attracts you.  You will be surprised by what you can achieve.  In the process you will forget to get sick and old, and God and the universe will recompense you with untold happiness.  Never fail to write down an idea when it comes to you. Thus the help to poor countries after World War II to save their newborn children and small children through health institutions and the suppression of epidemics, this which had a long-term consequence: the population explosion in these countries. Thus also the world-wide idea of economic development, free trade and capital investments led to the destruction of thirty percent of the Earth's nature! What will be our next errors?
