This is one of the most important single ideas I have come up with after more than half a century of world service. Please governments, do it. I beg you. Together with the creation of Ministries of Peace, Happiness and the Future it would be one of the greatest advances in governmental structures. Robert's 3 Volume Book - The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II The Art of Personal Happy Living Chapter 1 The Joy of Living Joy of the body, joy of the mind, joy of the heart, joy of the soul, joy of the whole being, we must aim at a holistic joy. * UN News: UN Chronicle, United Nations News Service, UN Wire Archive References: Earth Charter, Universal Declaration of Human Rights Rights of: Children,Women, IndigenousPeople To Be Written: Rights of Nature, Birds, Animals, Fish, etc. Daily Ray of Hope Ronnie Goyette | Bolsa Chica, California And since you know you cannot see yourself So well as by reflection, I, your glass, Will modestly discover to yourself That of yourself which you yet know not of. ~ William Shakespeare More from Robert Muller: RobertMuller.org Subscribe to/or unsubscribe from Robert Muller's GoodMorningWorld.org

[GMW #2299] Direct People to People, Family to Family Aid

Now people in rich countries are taxed by governments to provide governmental foreign aid, which is costly to administer, cause of bureaucracy and often misdirected towards purchases of armaments and other goods which the giving government or big firms want to sell. It reminds me of my mother, a poor milliner who was so happy whenever she looked at the photos of a poor African orphan whom she had adopted at the recommendation of a priest. She loved and supported that child with her modest means until she died without ever meeting the little boy. Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II Chapter 5 - Of Love Do not go through life without smelling the fragrance of roses. "Why does beauty exist? What's the point of marveling at a Rembrandt self portrait or a Bach fugue? To paraphrase Auden, beauty makes nothing happen. Unlike our more primal indulgences, the pleasure of perceiving beauty doesn't ensure that we consume calories or procreate. Rather, the only thing beauty guarantees is that we'll stare for too long at some lovely looking thing. Museums are not exactly adaptive. Here's my (extremely speculative) theory: Beauty is a particularly potent and intense form of curiosity. [...] Put another way, beauty is a motivational force that helps modulate conscious awareness. The problem beauty solves is the problem of trying to figure out which sensations are worth making sense of and which ones can be easily ignored." This Wired Magazine article offers an insightful look into the neuroscience of beauty. { read more } Be The Change "There is a wonderful urgency within things to realize the dream of their individual fulfillment. Nothing is neutral, everything is on its way." John O'Donohue shares beautifully in this short passage. { more } Books recommended by Robert are here.
