[GMW #3626] As Cosmic Beings, We Must Cross The Borders Within Ourselves

[GMW #3626] As Cosmic Beings, We Must Cross The Borders Within Ourselves Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4021 ~
A Dutchman, Peter Van Breeman says, "The most deep personal invitation God gives us is the call to cross the borders within ourselves. The tremendous truth is that we can change a deep re-orientation of our inwards. We can become truly new persons. We work at living out our days in our selfless. We are acculturated to refuse to meet our God within us. Our self exaltation screens us off on our side from God after the manner of a one-way mirror."

This is a little complicated but I believe that it is basically right. We must cross the borders within ourselves and also with the external world, including the infinite heavens and infinite time. This is the meaning of the spirituality of all the great religions. All are saying that we are children of God, cosmic beings.

The Miracle of Childhood

My grandfather once showed me a letter from a business partner who conveyed to him his observations of the little boy I was at the age of five.  He predicted that I would go very far and reach the top of the world.  It left a deep impression on me.  Alas, this rare letter was destroyed in the bombardment  of my grandfather's home during World War II.

WORD FOR THE DAY
If we consciously remind ourselves of our blessings, it should become harder to take them for granted and adapt to them.

[GMW #3145] To Make Positive Changes Rich Should Live Like The Poor For Six Months

[GMW #3145] To Make Positive Changes Rich Should Live Like The Poor For Six Months
Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 3500

~ Idea 3545 ~
From Adrian O'Barr, one of our grandchildren
(10 years old):

Every rich person in the rich countries who think that they are so great should go and live for three to six months in a poor country and live like the poor and then come home and do something about it.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II Chapter 14 Of Writing
When I was a refugee student at a college in the city of Lyon, a famous professor of literature gave us to write an essay on "natural style". We all failed.

He then explained to us with a story what he expected: at the Court of Louis XIV there was a Marquis who, when he was invited to a Court reception, spent hours in front of a mirror to arrange the folds of his jabot - a large neck garment of lace. When he arrived at the Court, everybody exclaimed: Monsieur le Marquis, comme votre jabot est naturel", how natural your jabot is!"

It is the same with style.

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
~ Idea 1192 ~ 15 October 1997
I am glad that the Gandhi Institute for Non-violence and the Martin Luther King Centers for Non-violence have partly fulfilled my idea 236 and have launched a Season of Non-violence from January 30, 1998 to April 4, 1998, the 50th and 30th anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi's and Martin Luther King's assassinations. I hope that this season of non-violence will become a yearly event and repeat my recommendation that all associations, movements and institutes working for a non-violent world should create a World Alliance for Non-Violence and request that the United Nations should convene urgently the World Conference on Non-violence recommended in my idea number 5.
