In a moment I will unveil the first model of a life-size bust of him which I will donate to the University. The inauguration of the bust, of an Albert Schweitzer Chair, and of Albert Schweitzer scholarships will take place at the University for Peace at the end of May* in presence of the diplomatic community, of Dr. and Mrs. Rhena Schweitzer Miller, of my dear friend Harold Robles, the dynamic and visionary President of the Albert Schweitzer Institute for the Humanities. (*This was done. I can see the bust from the Margarita and Robert Muller aula, my office at the University for Peace.) Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank you from the innermost of my heart for this wonderful honor. Like Albert Schweitzer, let us never cease to dream, to advocate, to serve, and to act. Let us make our beautiful Earth the Planet of Dreams.

I experienced old age and quickly refused the concept of old age. And I never felt old. I will experience death but I will refuse the concept of death. And as a result I might not die. * | | | Photo Credit: Scott Caplener Location: Henry Coe State Park, Gilroy, CA. | And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything. -- William Shakespeare | | | | | | | | |
