[GMW #4709] Obedience To World Objectives & Ways To Fulfill Them - Not Blind Obedience To Any Institution

[GMW #4709] Obedience To World Objectives & Ways To Fulfill Them - Not Blind Obedience To Any Institution Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000

~ Idea 6094~
I came across St. Francis’s testament of three pages of five main paragraphs. I jotted down the following notes to work on them some day as my commitment or testament to the world.

First paragraph: He changed his life from the wrong to the right side after having seen the lepers and the horrible killings when he was a military.

I was shocked in my early childhood by a ‘border’ I was not allowed to cross, by the militaries and their weapons, and by the extreme poverty of the people.

Second paragraph: St. Francis was struck by the role of the churches and of the holy cross. He decided to build and rebuild churches everywhere.

I decided to help build a peaceful, just and happy world, a great united peoples.

Paragraph three: For St. Francis, obedience to the church hierarchy.

Not I: no blind obedience to any institution, but obedience to world objectives and ways to fulfill them.

Paragraph four: The Lord showing St. Francis the holy gospel. He followed it and did not attempt to attract followers and create a new religion. His ways were poverty, preachings, prayers and love.

Not I: I live a simple, frugal life, have dreams and ideas, love and work for humanity and the Earth. His main prayer was “Our Father in heaven”. That is mine too, but adding Mother Earth.

Paragraph five: His manual work in the world of the poor and the peasant farmers.

My work too in nature, with farmers and global citizens.

The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe.

If you try it, you will be lonely often, and sometimes frightened.

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1501 to 2000
~ Idea 1548 ~
6 October 1998

It was wonderful to attend today in Costa Rica a yearly event organized by a Unity Church to honor 45 men and women, leaders of local charitable and volunteer service organizations, media, musicians and artists, with "peace constructors awards". It was a remarkable opportunity for these people to meet, celebrate, inspire and network with each other for good human and Earth causes. Speakers were heard on peace efforts in the world, demilitarization of Central America, non-violence inside nations and in families.

I recommend that similar encounters of peace, charitable and volunteer organizations be held in every city or local community in the world. Such meetings should be attended, sponsored and supported by the local representative of the United Nations if there exists one.

In the 21st century, local representatives or offices of the United Nations should exist in every city of the world.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II Chapter 13 - Of Speaking
It takes a great act of courage to try to make sense of life and Creation:  it requires faith, love, passion, commitment, dream, enthusiasm, poetry and music as much as mathematics and science.

There is more in Shakespeare and Beethoven than in Darwin and Einstein.

I sometimes wonder if humanity would not be better off by foregoing its investigations and conquests of the infinitely large and infinitely small.

We could as well be content with seeing Creation as it is in all its breathtaking beauty and wholeness manifested on Earth.

For will we ever be able to control the forces we unlock?  That is the great question.

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
From Annex
Preceding Idea 1001
April 6, 1997

Steve Diamond, author of What the Trees Said and co-author, with Robert Alan Silverstein, of the online picture book, One Day in Peace, January 1, 2000. He is a coordinator of the campaign for 24 hours of peace on January 1, 2000.

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP 2000
The 1000 Day Launch

On April 4-6, 1997 the Global Citizenship 2000 Youth Congress launched a 1000 day countdown of creative work on projects designed to care for the Earth and all its life. It was a spectacular start, held in the magnificent concourse of the Vancouver Public Library, on the most important agenda the world has ever known. The youth delegates embraced their task with enthusiasm and commitment.

On that occasion the following Earth Day Proclamation was circulated to the students and all participants and invited guests for signature. It is hoped that innumerable people around the world will sign it.

The Earth Proclamation
We are One people
We are One planet
We have One common dream
We want to live in peace
We choose to protect and heal the Earth
We decide to create a better world for all
We will do our best to make that dream come true
We will change what needs to be changed
We learn to love, share and forgive

We are One people, we want to live and we will.

Personal Commitment

I, the Undersigned,

aware that human activities are seriously endangering the fragile ecosystems of our planet, aware of the widening gap between the haves and the have-nots, aware of the need to redirect my energies to protect and restore the global Web of Life,

decide to begin right now to rethink my ways and values, and change what needs to be changed in myself and around me.

I want the year 2000 – for a new beginning – to be the turning point in the local and global efforts now underway to create a better world based on equality, justice and a sustainable planet; a sustainable world in which Peace on Earth prevails.

Understanding that we are all individually responsible for the kind of future we will create for our children and for countless generations to come, I will participate in initiatives, locally and globally, to transform our world and protect this Jewel of Life we call Earth.

I agree with this Earth Proclamation and personally commit myself to do all that I can to spread it throughout the world and help make our shared dream of Peace, Love and Harmony on Earth come true.

Signed on the 6th of April, 1997

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II Chapter 5 - Of Love
Perhaps only through love and transcendence can we get close to perceiving the ultimate mysteries of life and of the universe. Sursum corda, lift up our hearts in order to see and unite yourselves with the universe.

3 Lessons From A Collapsed Lung

Adversity is like a strong wind. It tears away from us all but the things that cannot be torn, so that we see ourselves as we really are. - Arthur Golden -

3 Lessons From A Collapsed Lung

"At the start of my junior year at USC, my left lung spontaneously collapsed unexpectedly. After being admitted to the ER, I spent four days at the Good Samaritan Hospital with a uncomfortable chest tube jutting out of my body. This was my first, real, and personal encounter of the true fragility of life: the fact that I could possess perfect health one day then instantly have to cling on for dear life the next - without any warning whatsoever. I recovered quickly, and I did my best to learn the lessons from this challenging but extremely revealing experience. Lessons like: being grateful for good health, keeping a powerfully positive attitude, and living life fully each day. So, just five weeks later, with no tubes to hold me back, I made a huge turnaround by seizing my dream of walking-on to the USC football team." Social entrepreneur Bronson Chang shares an inspiring personal story. { read more }

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1 to 500

~ Idea 99 ~ 17 October 1994

Each human being should make this commitment to peace:

Decide to be peaceful
Render others peaceful
Be a model of peace
Radiate your peace
Love passionately the peace
of our beautiful planet
Do not listen to the warmongers,
hateseeders and powerseekers
Dream always of a peaceful,
warless, disarmed world
Think always of a peaceful world
Work always for a peaceful world
Switch on and keep on, in yourself,
the peaceful buttons,
those marked love,
serenity, happiness, truth,
kindness, friendliness
understanding and tolerance
Pray and thank God every day for peace
Pray for the United Nations
and all peacemakers
Pray for the leaders of nations
who hold the peace of the world
in their hands
Pray God to let our planet at long last
become the Planet of Peace
And sing in unison with all humanity:
"Let there be peace on Earth
And let it begin with me."

Undoubtedly the first priority of this generation is to bring peace, order and justice on this planet.

This is youth's primary historical function.

We absolutely, urgently need proper Earth government. I offer you my strong, urgent recommendations in the Conclusion and Proposals of Volume IX of my 5000 Ideas and Dreams for a Better World
