Margaret Mead, the anthropologist, launched the idea of holding peoples' non-governmental conferences parallel to official United Nations world conferences. They became quickly popular and governments even like them. Why not consider a similar peoples' General Assembly*, a peoples' Security Council, a peoples' Economic and Social Council, a peoples' International Court of Justice? Note: *June 1995: I was glad and honored to serve as the Chairman of the first Peoples' Assembly during the 50th anniversary of the signing of the UN Charter in San Francisco. "Well," said Pooh, "what
I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because
although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there
was a moment just before you began to eat it which was
better than when you were, but he didn't know what it
was called." ~ A. A. Milne More from Robert Muller: RobertMuller.org Subscribe to/or unsubscribe from Robert Muller's GoodMorningWorld.org Click on any of these tags-labels to see more entries from Robert that have the tag-label: |
