[GMW #3985] Use Humor In Campaigns For A Better World

[GMW #3985] Use Humor In Campaigns For A Better World Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4378 ~
In Most of All, They Taught Me Happiness I devoted a chapter to laughter and to its benefits for the individual and for human relations. Humor is a very powerful weapon against excessive power, dictatorship, wealth, bureaucracy, bad leaders and politicians, religious intolerance, etc. The law of humor, which was developed over the millennia has nowadays a tendency to spread from country to country. That is good. I have made my own contribution by writing Humor Around the World.

The publisher changed it to World Joke Book. I recommend to all peace, human rights, social justice, anti-racist and other such groups on this planet to use humor in their campaigns for a better world. As Voltaire said and demonstrated so effectively: le ridicule tue, ridicule kills. There are many things on this planet which we can call ridiculous.

Harmonize yourself with everything:  with your loved ones, with yourself, with planet Earth, with time, with the universe and with God.  Untold happiness will be your reward.

[GMW #3291] A New Global Philosophy And Proper Ways Of Life

[GMW #3291] A New Global Philosophy And Proper Ways Of Life Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 3500
~ Idea 3691 ~
Why not recommend to the United Nations to convene a world conference on a new global philosophy and proper ways of life in the third millennium?

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II The Art of Personal Happy Living
Chapter 8, Of Health

Negative elements create sickness. Positive elements create health. Humanity has an enormous knowledge of negative elements: stress, worry, anxiety, depression, panic, etc. and very scant knowledge of positive elements: joy, happiness, hope, laughter, cheerfulness, prayer, faith, etc.
Why is that? Because doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists and pharmaceutical manufactures' are professionally inclined to study and stress the negative factors: they can then offer their services, tranquilizers, antacids and drugs for healing. Positive elements on the contrary cost nothing. They are found in each individual and in nature. By emphasizing them they would diminish their role and business!

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 6501 to 7000

~ Idea 6724 ~

The current society and governments do not recommend the value of simple, peaceful lives to their citizens. Most often it is the contrary: more buying, spending, wanting, traveling and bigger modern lodging.

Words and ideas of happiness, philosophy and fulfillment are almost totally absent from governmental language. Business and more and more producing, selling and buying seem to be the rules.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II Chapter 8 Of Health
At our monthly luncheons we used to have in New York, Norman Cousins and I often pondered on two important experiences in our lives: the way he healed himself through a cure of laughter, and the way I escaped from the Gestapo during the war thanks to Dr. Emile Coué's method of auto-suggestion.

We both decided to write these stories in books which became best-sellers. Ever since then I use the Coué method and jokes and laughter as an adjuvant to good health.

Someone should develop a science of good humor therapy.

There should also be a nature therapy: the healthy effects of being or living in the midst of nature.

There should also be a music therapy: the beautiful effects of hearing good, harmonious, elevating, healing music.

I applied it in the Alzheimer home in Costa Rica where my poor wife was taken care of. I played to the patients music from their youth and from their country of origin. The effects were magical. I also noticed that praying together the rosary has good effects on the patients. All nurses also had orders to constantly smile.

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 6501 to 7000

~ Idea 6709 ~

I just cannot understand why someone who is appointed Secretary General of the United Nations for five years does not have the courage to have more audacity and to speak more openly. Nothing prevents them for example, to have a weekly fireside chat with people or with great thinkers or with reactionaries like Gary Davis, like Helen Caldecott, Nobel Prize winner.

This is what I would do and show to the public and have the courage to envisage a new world and to denounce the basic injustices and errors in which we live today.

The Secretary General is the servant general of the world.

I would change my title. I would consider myself to be, the servant of the world, of the earth and of humanity.

The Secretary General can launch innumerable ideas, big ideas and small ones and people would begin to listen to him and implement them. If governments do not like these ideas, let them oppose them. Today governments have the initiative and can put a Secretary General on the defensive, at least some of them.

Well, do the opposite, put them on the defensive and get the people on your side. There are many methods the Secretary General can use to have direct alliances with the people. I would use them.

Sri Chinmoy our dear spiritual friend has passed

Dearest Good Morning World Readers,
Yesterday was the memorial for Sri Chinmoy and we sent the following tribute to our dear friend.. http://vineberg.blogspot.com/search/label/Sri%20Chinmoy
love, Barbara

To my Dear Friends,

What a deep, sad, world-wide loss with the passing of my beloved friend Sri Chinmoy, especially for the United Nations and for me, his friend for so many years. His life was an unforgettable masterpiece. I will always cherish our co-authored books, the Wisdom of Sri Chinmoy and all the writngs which I have in my home and will share with my children. I share my favorite passage from him below which mirrors my hope for the world which will deeply miss Sri Chinmoy.

Your faithful friend from the United Nations, Robert Muller

former UN Assistant Secretary General

The awakened consciousness of man is evolving towards the Divine Existence. This is a most hopeful streak of light amidst the obscurities of the present-day world. This is a moment when human beings do not only join hands, but-also join minds, hearts and souls. All physical, vital and mental barriers between East and West will dissolve; and high above national standards, above even individual standards, we shall see the supreme banner of divine Oneness.

Yours in the Supreme,

Sri Chinmoy
