[GMW #4344] Attitudes & Ways Nurturing A Much Better World Well Past The Year 3000

[GMW #4344] Attitudes & Ways Nurturing A Much Better World Well Past The Year 3000
Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4730 ~
I have begun to ask people I meet this question:
"What do you think the world will be in the year 3000?"

The most frequent answer I receive is:
"There will be no world anymore."

How sad.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,Volume II - The Art of Personal Happy Living
Chapter 5 - Of Love  On a Christmas night, Napoleon was sitting with his aides on the island of St. Helen where he was a prisoner. He said to them:

"Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and I tried to conquer the world, and we failed utterly.

And there was one man who had no arms, no power, no wealth and who conquered the world with one single means: love. That man was Jesus."

A remark to be meditated by all heads of state, generals and billionaires.

[GMW #4077] World Institute Of Wrongnesses To Nurture Right Things & Less Wrong Things

[GMW #4077] World Institute Of Wrongnesses To Nurture Right Things & Less Wrong Things Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4470 ~
Give humans anything to produce and they will produce it to perfection, even if they are wrong things. Will there ever come a time when the wrongest things, namely armaments, war toys and so many other Earth-destroying products, will be excluded from human production, will be prohibited? I recommend the creation of a World Institute of Wrongnesses.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume I - The Great Scene of Creation
Chapter 2 - Our Miraculous Planetary Home
Yes, there is still so much to do on our planet.  There is not even a Napoleon who would look at it and say:

"I want these canals and tunnels to be dug; I want this overflow of water brought to this desert; I want these solar and hydroelectrical power plants to be build; I want these new lakes to be formed; I want these deserts to be stopped and made to bloom; I want these world railroads and roads to be build; I want these world satellites to be launched; I want all people to be decently fed, educated and employed; I want world laws; I want world justice; I want a World Treasury; I want proper Earth government”; and so forth.  Alas, very few talk like that.  Doesn't any politician want to become famous?

To be a mountain you have to climb alone
and accept all that rain and snow. You have to look
far away when evening comes. If a forest
grows, you care; you stand there leaning against
the wind, waiting for someone with faith enough
to ask you to move. Great stones will tumble
against each other and gouge your sides. A storm
will live somewhere in your canyons hoarding its lightning.

[GMW #3159] A Millennial Outlook For The Future Of Planet Earth And Humanity

[GMW #3159] A Millennial Outlook For The Future Of Planet Earth And Humanity
Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 3500

~ Idea 3559 ~
I thank God for the creation of the Foundation for the Future in Bellevue Washington which has the vision, elevation and sense of urgency to look into the future of planet Earth and of humanity as far as the year 3000. There is no more urgent task on this planet. May it provoke the same millennial concern of all governments, institutions, corporations, industries, social groups and peoples' movements all over the world.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume  II Chapter 14 Of Writing
The French author Honoré de Balzac said: "What Napoleon could not achieve with the sword, I will accomplish with the pen."

I say the same today. May many humans say the same.

WORD FOR THE DAY

The nonviolent approach does not immediately change the heart of the oppressor. It first does something to the hearts and souls of those committed to it. It gives them new self-respect; it calls up resources of strength and courage they did not know they had.

[GMW #2372] Celebrate Remembered People Who Did Good and Who Had No Power, No Army, No Wealth

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
~ Idea 1262 ~
24 December 1997
I love to remember on Christmas eve this comment of Napoleon to his aides when he was an exile and prisoner on the island of Elba: "I conquered most of the world and I am sitting here as a prisoner, having lost all my power and conquests. And tonight the people are celebrating the birth of someone who had no power, no army, no wealth, was a total destitute, and is still remembered after more than a thousand years."

Well, most heads of states, of world institutions and of big firms you better prepare yourselves to hold the same reflections on Christmas eve 1999 and 2000: have I lived a life which will be remembered in the hearts and annals of humanity? Will at least my children and grandchildren celebrate the fact that I was born?

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II Chapter 11 - Of Gratitude
As I was washing the windows of our little farmhouse, I was thinking:
"What would a Roman Emperor say if he saw those beautiful, flat, perfectly transparent window-panes, which are so common and cheap today, which the poorest people can afford? He would not understand how such wonders can be made."

We of course take them for granted and seldom look at them with love and gratitude for letting light come into our homes. For thousands of years scores of humans lived without them. He would express the same astonishment at electricity, cooking stoves, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, television and radio.

He would not believe his eyes, and would exclaim: "You must be the happiest people who ever lived."

Alas, too many people would look at him, disgruntled, taking all these blessings for granted, and would come up with a long list of complaints.

He would not understand it. I believe God does not understand it either.

This is why our troubles on Earth continue: since we do not have the gratitude to count our blessings,
God is not encouraged to help us solve the new problems before us.

Dear reader, look for a few moments at the marvel of a windowpane, smile to it, give thanks for it and give it a little kiss.

WORD FOR THE DAY

The whole idea of compassion is based on a
keen awareness of the
interdependence of all these living beings, which are all
part of one another, and all
involved in one another.
