To authors who want to see results
from their writings I relate this
experience which might be useful:
A US lady who heads a Foundation for Education through Entertainment in Washington, paid me a visit at the University for Peace in Costa Rica. She said that she had read and reread my book New Genesis and found herself in great agreement with me. She then opened a notebook on which she had copied a good number of ideas from my 4000 ideas and discussed them with me at length. Her main query was the following, "What could be done by the world of entertainment, by great artists, by movie producers, by poets to make a better world and save humanity from extinction?" Our exchanges lead to a concrete result: I suggested to her the creation of a World Commission of Eminent Artists and Entertainers to give humanity their vision of a peaceful, happy Mother Earth and loving humanity. She accepted this idea with great enthusiasm. I hope that it will be implemented. Conclusion: Any general book can normally lead only to a general feeling, but a collection of very concrete ideas and dreams can lead to concrete results. It would be good therefore if on this Earth a new literary genre could be devoted to ideas and dreams for a better world. This applies also to the more than thirty thousand international private associations, many of them accredited as non-governmental organizations to the United Nations. Widely published concrete ideas and dreams might be a great new tool for the attainment of a better world. I am sometimes
called an 'astonishing optimist'. What is so astonishing about being an
optimist? Is not life itself an astonishing proof of the Creator's
incredible, endless optimism and patience?
