[GMW #3691] Create A Critical Mass With Reappraisals Nurturing The Future Of Humanity And Of The Earth

[GMW #3691] Create A Critical Mass With Reappraisals Nurturing The Future Of Humanity And Of The Earth Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4086~
Unfortunately we have not yet reached a critical mass where the need for such reappraisals would almost explode and become evident to the human species.

An ecological or environmental or other catastrophe would be such a critical mass. But what a shame that governments do not sit down and look frontally at this situation.

I have made that appeal to all the heads of states on the occasion of their year 2000 meeting in the United Nations. No response. I have appealed to the Secretary General Mr. Kofi Annan to convene urgently a world conference on the future of humanity and of the Earth. He answered me that this will be done by the heads of state in 2002 at a world conference in Johannesburg on sustainable development. Let us hope so.

Chapter 6 - The Rich Age
The Hindus call old age the period of vanaprashta, the preparation for the beyond. In their view, the last goal of life should be to become a sanyassin, a guru (teacher), a holy person, a saint. What a wise philosophy that is!

WORD FOR THE DAY
Looking behind I am filled with gratitude.
Looking forward I am filled with vision.
Looking upwards I am filled with strength.
Looking within I discover peace.
