Local stores should decide and advertise that they will sell
exclusively local products. This will give incentive to local
productions. When Barbara offered this suggestion I said to her
that there could be a local book store in Santa Barbara which
would sell only books by authors from Santa Barbara. She said
that there are more than four hundred authors living in that
city and that they would be delighted.

Many institutions and professors are spending much time and
money on studies concerning the effects and problems of
alcoholism. But they do not dare to attack frontally the big
alcohol producing firms which are gaining miles of ground while
the professors are advancing a few feet. Mohammed was a genius
when he condemned not only the consumption of alcohol, but also
those who produce it, transport it and sell it. These are the
real culprits. And today he would add on top of the list the
most immoral of all: advertisers and marketers.
