Seeing
a road being repaved in Costa Rica by big caterpillar equipment I was
thinking the following: neither Costa Rica nor any other poor country on
Earth has the industries, technologies and means to produce similar
machines. They have to import them and pay huge transport costs. The US
is very far ahead of them, getting big tax income of millions of dollars
from the producing firms.
It has also all the patents. But this is considered normal: the US is developed while the poor countries are underdeveloped. No, we should use a more truthful vocabulary, namely the far ahead countries and the delayed ones. It is from that point of view that we should reconsider the world economic situation and system. The late coming countries will never be able to catch up and fill the gap. The whole world industrial, economic and social situation must be reviewed, rethought and reformulated substantially for a better, more just and harmonious world. The same must be done for the world population problem where the poor countries are the ahead countries and the rich countries the behind ones!
