I wonder how many such awards are given out by the 185 heads of states of this planet! There must be thousands of them. And how many awards are granted by the heads of the UN and world agencies and programs? Less than a dozen. How sad this is. Artificial nations born from conquests, purchases, murders, divisions, marriages, etc., count for everything. Humanity and our planet count for nothing. I recommend a thorough study of this matter and a flowering of global awards to meritorious peace-heroes, peace-martyrs, peacemakers and world servers. * |
| Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume III Chapter 4 The Highpoint of Human Life, Youth | Two young men once asked me: "How come that at your age you are so optimistic and youthful, while we are so pessimistic and depressed?" I answered: "Because I work for the United Nations where I can see the innumerable great, incessant efforts of humans for a better world, even if the path is strewn with colossal obstacles, obsolete idiosyncrasies, monumental errors and serious failures. Take interest in the UN and in its world agencies, conferences, international years, celebrate the world days proclaimed by the UN, and you will become optimists too."
