RE Idea 6759 Ministries of Foreign Affairs Naming conventions are important. They are instrumental in forming our preconceptions, correctly or incorrectly.
Perhaps you have addressed this in an idea already, but for this same reason i advocate changing the name of the UN Secretary General. This was one of my strong suggestions at the UN Reform Conference we attended a few years ago in San Francisco. Why do i advocate this? Ask your average person on the street what images come to mind when you say 'General'? You will get numerous militaristic responses. Not exactly what today's UN stands for...or needs to stand for.
Just a thought.
