I will ask UNESCO to establish a list of all these 'must' readings which nations have decreed for their young citizens and why no works of a global nature are recommended. Two texts come immediately to my mind, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Earth Charter which specifies how we should love and take good care of our Earth.
