[GMW #2861] The Rights Of Mother Earth, Of Her Nature And Her Elements Friday 29 November 2013, Editor: Easy RobertMuller.org| Contact| Subscribe | Unsubscribe Biography | World Core Curriculum | Store | Facebook | Twitter GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese | Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch Idea Dream -Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 3500 ~ Idea 3256 ~ The celebration of the year 2000 and our entry into a new century and millennium are an ideal occasion to make a comprehensive review of the rights of all human groups on Earth.  Here are a few which still require utmost attention: - the human rights of the poorest of the world - the human rights of the handicapped - the human rights of youth - the human rights of mothers - the human rights of the family - the human rights of the elderly In addition, thanks be to God a new chapter has been opened, namely the rights of Mother Earth, of her nature and of her elements.  The Earth Charter drafted by the Earth Council (see its text in Annex of Volume VI) has been submitted by the United Nations to all governments.  In addition, as I've pointed out in Idea 1970, we must work on a whole series of particular charters for outer space, our future evolution, the atmosphere, the seas and oceans, world water, world species', the Earth forest covers and vegetation, the Earth's top soils, mountain areas, the world's great lakes, arid and semi-arid zones, the Arctic and Antarctic and for islands.  The same procedure was followed after the Universal Declaration of Human Rights when charters for children's rights, women's rights, indigenous rights, racial equality, etc. were undertaken. It is interesting that in the 1950's we were only concerned with human progress and protection.  The Earth was taken for granted, but now at the beginning of the 21st century and third millennium she has gained equal if not first priority.  These new efforts together with the implementation of human rights and the appearance of human responsibilities and duties represent a very remarkable progress of humanity.  It is a hopeful sign that humans can succeed and find their right relationships between themselves, with the Earth, with the heavens and with time. Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume I  Chapter 3  Our Genial Human Family Intellectual qualities are superior to physical qualities; moral qualities are superior to intellectual qualities; and spiritual qualities are the highest of all.  This is borne out by our daily observations:  a person endowed with a good physique and a fine mind is superior to one having only a good body; a person who has also good moral qualities is superior to the former; and most admirable is he or she who has a good physique, a great intelligence, a good heart and a soul in communion with all humanity, with God and the universe. The same is true of any social group, from the family to the entire human race.  Our present human family is still very imperfect because: - it has not yet assured good physical lives to all its 6 billion members:  more than a billion still go hungry; - it has not yet provided for good mental lives for all:  there are still 800 million illiterates; - it has not yet become a moral world:  there are still many wars, injustices, inequalities, violence, hatred, lies, miseducation, misinformation, corruption and dishonesty on our planet; - it is not yet a spiritual world:  we have mostly earthly, materialistic concerns and seldom lift our minds, hearts and souls to the universe and to the eternal stream of time. I hope and pray that a similar initiative will be taken to create a United States of the World or a World Union or a United Earth.  May such an initiative be taken during the UN/UNESCO Culture of Peace and Non-violence World Campaign 2000 to 2010.
