The Earth's beautiful, pure, friendly skies are becoming increasingly polluted, unhappy, unfriendly skies, perhaps even someday disgusting skies. The mere fact of being alive, of having consciousness is for me an
endless source of astonishment and gratitude.
*I often smile at being alive. I have thus the right relationships with the circumstances of my life and never consider them more important than life itself. Rich or poor, in prison or in freedom, in success or in failure, in youth or in old age, in work or in leisure, I am always happy and deeply grateful to be alive.
