When I think of the tragedies caused to the families of my schoolmates of Alsace-Lorraine who lost a husband or a son in German or French uniforms in World War II,

I am moved to request that the United Nations should open a new chapter of human rights, namely the rights of families.

It should proclaim the fundamental human right of every family not to see any of its members trained and asked to kill members of other families,

- not in the name of a nation
- nor a religion
- nor of any other institution,
- entity or
- person on Earth.

Human eyes and the human brain are much too precious to be wasted on the consumption of the horrid daily news, advertisements and entertainments dished out incessantly by the media.

To be happy, don't read the newspapers, don't listen to the radio, don't watch television.

Ignoring them is the surest way to personal happiness.

Get rid of your television, I did so years ago.
