[GMW #2402] Only Men over Forth go to War - Since They Decide Wars or Not Monday 27 February 2012, Editor: Easy| RobertMuller.org | Contact | Subscribe | Unsubscribe | Biography | World Core Curriculum | Store | NEW Facebook | Twitter | GMW Blogs: English | Portuguese | Spanish | Tagalog | Dutch | ~ Idea 1280 ~ I will send my ideas to the first world conference of Ministers of Youth in Portugal in August of this year.11 January 1998 In addition to those from my 2000 ideas, I will propose that: - only men aged forty or over should be sent to war because they decide the wars and then send to war young people who had no part in their decision to fight; - no head of state, Minister, Parliamentarian or head of a national administration should be allowed to be more than forty to fifty years old, because they are the result of an obsolete, not up-to-date, non-global education and would take decisions and manage affairs in ways not commensurate with the needs of the new generation of youths who still have decades of life before them. Barbara made the following comment to me when I read this text to her: " I have concluded long ago that it is only worth talking to people of less than forty and of men of more than sixty. The first are open-minded and forward-looking, the others are experienced. You can forget about the middle category because they are sold out to existing systems, beliefs and institutions." Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II Chapter 11 - Of Gratitude The mere fact of being alive, of having consciousness is for me an endless source of astonishment and gratitude. I often smile at being alive. I have thus the right relationships with the circumstances of my life and never consider them more important than life itself. Rich or poor, in prison or in freedom, in success or in failure, in youth or in old age, in work or in leisure, I am always happy and deeply grateful to be alive. Happiness is the expression of my gratitude for life. Daily Good If everybody acted in a simple and human way, we'd all be saints. -- Don Sergio Castro ~~~~ Good News of the Day: "Some of his patients are sent to him by local hospitals, especially in hopeless cases; when, for example, amputation seems to be the only option. Sergio Castro is seen by many as the last hope. People come to him with gangrene, hoping that they will be able to keep their limbs, for he has achieved what some perceive as "miracles". Sergio is not a doctor; Sergio's somebody who really cares about people. And his clinic is actually not a clinic, but a museum of traditional indigenous costumes. Sergio has been working within the indigenous Mayan communities of Chiapas, the poorest and most deprived State of Mexico, for the past 40 years. Initially, his contribution was agricultural work, and helping to build water infrastructure before he began offering medical care. Like all true healers, Sergio didn't choose to become one. He was chosen, elected by the people who needed his help; and unlike many proclaimed healers, he's never asked a dime for his services." [More] Books recommended by Robert are here.
