I have never understood why the United Nations should only have economic regional commissions for each continent. They should become Political, Economic, Social and Environmental Commissions each headed by a regional Secretary General. Perhaps the big powers never liked the idea of a grouping of countries of the same continent into political, regional United Nations. Philanthropy (love for humans) must be accompanied by gaiaphily (love for Gaia, our Mother Earth). Local and national philanthropy must vastly extend into world philanthropy and gaiaphily.
