[GMW #4389] Beautiful - Meaningful - People's Names

[GMW #4389] Beautiful - Meaningful - People's Names Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4775 ~
Ours is really a strange, still imperfect humanity. Just look at the names and first names we use. Regarding the latter we have the liberty to give any first name, even several ones to our children.

I have recommended time and again that there should be collections of beautiful, meaningful first names in all languages.

First names of saints are not bad but they might be meaningless to people of other religions and languages. And why should I be called Robert, the red beard, a name dating from the primitive age of humanity?  Why is my family name Muller, the miller, the second most numerous name in the world after the Chinese name Chan?  Big publishers do not want to publish my books because nobody knows who Robert Muller is.  There is such a profusion of them. There is even a Robert Muller who is the head of the US FBI.

In Spanish countries they now use a middle name between the first and the family name in order to reduce the confusion of millions of identical Spanish names.  In the Costa Rican telephone book there are 2420 customers named Gonzalez!  Incidentally, it would be interesting to know the total number of pages of telephone books in the world and their annual growth.

I recommend that UNESCO should establish an office and an International Commission on Names and to have humans adopt beautiful, inspiring names.

Love is simply the realization of our cosmic nature, the joy of being and becoming fully what we are meant to be.
