Idea 4152 ~
When in the 70's I was Director of the UN Secretary General
Office I received letters from scientists who urged the United
Nations to look into the climate of the world which they
considered to be in danger of warming and leading to a change
of direction of ocean currents by the year 2020.
I listened to them and obtained the convening of the first UN
Conference on World Climate in 1979, but in United Nations
circles I was considered crazy to come up with that idea.
Well, the next twenty years were spent in denying that there
would be major climatic changes on planet Earth. Finally in
July 2001 at a conference of 180 governments on that subject
in Bonn it was stated that there can be no longer any doubt
that there is a danger of climatic changes.
The debate moved to what should be done about it. It confirms
the old saying that a new idea or concern is first considered
crazy, then it is fought noisily and finally it is recognized
as common sense. But what precious time this makes us lose in
a rapidly and dangerously changing world.
Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume III - The Seasons of Life Chapter 7 - Return to Mother Earth
It would be fascinating if the United Nations or
the World Health Organization would collect and study the
etymology, the meaning of the word death in all languages of the
world.

~ Idea 3662 ~
God looking down on Earth and asking:
"What have they invented now down there, big mechanical snails?" Goddess Eartha: "No, they are golf course vehicles. There are thousands of them all over the United States and their number is increasing all over the world." And then she goes on explaining to God what the golf sport is and God shakes his head and says: "What else will they not be inventing?" Goddess Eartha: "Well, at least it preserves a good surface of mine, even if most of them are completely deforested and are only meadows. The grass of these meadows is constantly cut short with mowing machines which produce pollution and prevent the grass from growing and producing oxygen and consuming carbon dioxide." God: "Well, this is even worse than I thought." Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II The Art of Personal Happy Living Chapter 8, Of Health We had a dog called Cleo who sniffed and scratched the door to be let out whenever someone smoked in the house. As a result, no one smoked. An animal reminded us of a basic common sense rule: to breathe the natural God-given air of our habitat.

In order to keep our human common sense, our humaneness, we
should stop looking at advertisements until those who pay for
them will realize that they are wasting their money. On the
contrary, let us buy preferably non-advertised products
recommended by truthful sources, such as doctors, priests,
clubs, peoples' associations, friends and neighbors.
Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II The Art of Personal Happy Living Chapter 8, Of Health We pay much attention to the intakes of the human body: the right air, food, liquids and knowledge. But we pay little attention to a great central question: what oversees, directs, orchestrates, manages, keeps in good order and leads successfully over an entire lifetime the total human person, that marvelous, incredibly complex, unique, divine cosmos in the universe? It is love, passion, belief, trust in our extraordinary body and life.

Einstein said, "Perfection of means and confusion of ends
seems to characterize our age." He could have also added
that concentration on the immediate and ignorance of the
future characterizes our age.
Yes, these are two very profound and dangerous mistakes of our very rapid age. In certain fields and countries we should envisage a slowdown age, an age of common sense, of wisdom. Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II Chapter 13 Of Speaking
A
world of giving and singing and not a world of wanting and
lamenting should be our aim.

~ Idea 3175 ~
Young people should refuse to go to universities in big
overcrowded cities where there is not enough oxygen and too
much pollution. They should go to universities located in
nature, on hills and on sea shores with ample oxygen
supply. Intelligence and natural, common sense require it.
Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II Chapter 3 Of Consciousness
It is infinitely more important to live a full, happy
life than to occupy a glorified non-lasting position.

Idea 3088 ~
My good friends of the Airlines Ambassadors Association
(see Introduction to Ideas 2201 to 2300) should ask all
pilots and air personnel to give their views how they
see the future of the world.
This could be a great source of common sense, wisdom, thinking and future vision. Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II Chapter 2 Of Happiness
The
US Constitution is the only constitution on Earth
which mentions specifically the pursuit of happiness as a main objective of government. *
