A Copernican revolution is taking place: we learn that we are not meant to be the rulers of the Earth; the Earth or its processes are the rulers of everything there is on it, inert or alive, vegetal or animal (possessing an anima, a soul).  We must therefore determine what are its laws we must obey and what the consequences and her reactions will be if we do not obey them.
