[GMW #4383] Advertising, Packaging and Publishing Is Harming The Earth

[GMW #4383] Advertising, Packaging and Publishing Is Harming The Earth Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4769 ~

The Earth:

"Dear Robert, you attended a conference on book promotion and self-publishing in Santa Barbara. Twenty people during two days were taught how to produce books, get them published, get them advertised, promoted and sold in the largest possible quantities. Don't you think that this might harm me?"

You are right.  I learned among others that:

- there are 7,000 different catalogs in the US
- 11.8 billion copies of them are mailed out annually
- each US citizen receives 78 catalogs
- there are even catalog handbooks
- the US handbook lists 5,000 catalogs in 106 categories, the Canadian 1,000 catalogs in 130 categories.

I also learned that 50 billion dollars are spent annually in the United States to design packagings.  Can you imagine, only to design them! The incredible packaging explosion in the US copied by the rest of the world might become a disaster.

The Earth:
"Yes, it is already to a large extent."

Chapter 5 - Of Love

I am simply in love with life, with the world and with humanity.

To love is the first, fundamental step. All the rest follows.
