HEARTS OF HUMANITY AWARDS
This is an award for recognition or merit which may
be given by any club, group, organization or
institution, large or small, in the world, to a
deserving recipient either from within the
membership or from without.
The process of awarding more and more Hearts of
Humanity year after year improves the growth,
strength and unification of the civil society
movement around the world; the general public
gradually becomes more interested in participating
with the growth of the civil society movement and
the making of a better world.
Barbara and I received the first Heart of Humanity
Award on June 30, 2001, from the Global People's
Assembly in San Francisco. It was the first gift we
received as a couple.
When we were married we decided to always think with
the heart first, to share the love we had for each
other in everything we do and with everyone we meet,
in essence to talk from love and listen with love.
We feel very deeply that love is the antibiotic for
violence. With a heart full of peace we spend most
of our days working for peace.
God or nature, when they created humans, put
intelligence on the top of our being and the heart
eighteen inches lower. This was vital for our
development, but we have now reached the stage of
evolution when the heart and the brain should change
places. As the French author Pascal said, "The
heart has its reasons, which reason ignores."
The League of Nations once organized a meeting
between Freud and Einstein to exchange their views
on Peace.
Einstein asked Freud: "I have not found an answer to
my search for peace in my sciences. Did you find one
in yours?"
Freud replied: "Yes. Love for a larger group, the
nation, put an end to wars between ethnic groups.
Love for the nation, e.g. for the United States, put
an end to wars and conflicts between the states.
Love for humanity and the world will put an end to
international wars."
Indeed, love of country has succeeded in binding
people at the national level. The great new
historical challenge is to develop love among all
Earth inhabitants and for the Earth herself: peace
on Earth and with the Earth. Barbara is working on
her book United Nature to help accomplish this goal.
I try to do it with my 5000 ideas.
After the encounter with Freud, Einstein said that
the human society also needed to develop a sense of
global spirituality. The Heart of Humanity Award
tries to fulfill that mission.
The Award founder is Narayan de Vera.

WORD FOR THE DAY
The moment we choose to love we begin to move against domination, against oppression. The moment we choose to love we begin to move towards freedom, to act in ways that liberate ourselves and others. ~ bell hooks More from Robert Muller: RobertMuller.org Subscribe to/or unsubscribe from Robert Muller's GoodMorningWorld.org Click on any of these tags-labels to see more entries from Robert that have the tag-label: |
