We have an enormous world-wide, incredibly sophisticated and detailed field of knowledge called history, but we are missing
a real science of it which I would call pastology, the twin science of the future, futurology. People dealing with that science would be called pastologists as distinct from historians. Their science would go far beyond the mere recording of facts and events to which most current history is limited.
