[GMW #3865] Spirituality - A Fundamental Human Need

[GMW #3865] Spirituality - A Fundamental Human Need Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 3001 to 4000
~ Idea 4260 ~
On the way to the first meeting of the World Commission on Global Consciousness and Spirituality I was reminded of this during my life:

From the moment I became interested in the spiritual dimension of life everything began to change.

I read Dag Hammarskjöld's Markings. I discovered that in the United Nations he had found God as the Master and that he had to interpret His will as the Secretary General of the UN.

I would have never thought that I would rediscover spirituality in the United Nations. Perhaps spirituality is such a fundamental human need that it always reappears in one form or another in life and history and that we might be on the eve of a World Spiritual Renaissance.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume I - The Great Scene of Creation
Chapter 5 - The Miracle of Individual Life

Seen in the context of the four infinites, human life becomes a tremendous privilege, a gift, a miracle of the highest order in the universe.  The Hindus are probably right when they say that we must be good people in order not to fall back into darkness or into lower life forms endowed with dimmer perceptions.  This truth is dawning ever more clearly upon us.  It should receive a modern, scientific formulation and be part of education.

To the attentive eye, each moment of the year has its own beauty, and
in the same fields, it beholds, every hour,
a picture which was never seen before, and
which shall never be seen again.
