Most of All They Taught Me Happiness
Robert Muller

As for myself, when the moment will come to close my eyes on this beautiful planet, my heart will thank and honor all those who gave me life and the warmth of love, and Him who permitted me to devote my earthly sojourn to peace, justice, and the betterment of the human condition in one of the noblest organizations ever born from the heart of man.  I will go in peace and joy, thankful for having been blessed with the miracle of life.

I will have loved my life with passion, embraced it with fervor, cherished every moment of it.  I will have contemplated with wonder the sky and its running clouds, my brethren the humans, my sisters the flowers and stars.  I will have feasted unceasingly on the treasure of life in all of its forms.  I will not have dwelled in mediocre ambitions, vain hatred, and useless complaints.

I will depart with the belief that there is no end to the flow of life in the universe, that there is no death but only an unceasing change of worlds.

    My conclusion would therefore be:

Decide To Be Happy

Robert Muller

Decide to be happy
Render others happy
Proclaim your joy
Love passionately your miraculous life

Do not listen to promises
Do not wait for a better world

Be grateful for every moment of life

Switch on and keep on the positive buttons in yourself,
those marked
optimism
serenity
confidence
positive thinking
love

Pray and thank God every day
Meditate

Smile
Laugh
Whistle
Sing
Dance

Look with fascination at everything
Fill your lungs and heart with liberty
Be yourself fully and immensely
Act like a king unto Death

Feel God in your body, mind, heart, and soul
And be convinced of eternal life and resurrection

LET THERE BE PEACE ON EARTH

Jill Jackson / Sy Miller

Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father
Brothers all are we.
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.

Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take
Let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment
And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me.

Robert Muller was born in Belgium in 1923 and raised in the Alsace-Lorraine region in France. His grandparents had five successive nationalities (French, German) without leaving their village, as the result of three wars (1870-1871, 1914-1918, 1939-1945).

Often as a child, he looked out of his window at the border he could not cross and longed for the day when he, like the birds, the clouds, the sun and the stars, would not have to observe the imaginary line.

As a member of the French Resistance, he knew the horrors of World War II, of being a refugee, and of Nazi occupation and imprisonment.

After the war he earned a Doctorate of Law from the University of Strasbourg. In 1948 he won an essay contest on how to govern the world; the prize was an internship at the newly created United Nations, where he met his first wife Margarita Gallo.

Dr. Muller devoted the next 40 years of his life to the United Nations, focusing his energy on world peace. He rose through the ranks to Assistant-Secretary-General of the UN.
He was called the "Philosopher" and "Prophet of Hope" of the United Nations. He published over 22 books, including his Testament to the UN and 7000 Ideas and Dreams for a Better World available at www.GoodMorningWorld.org.

Robert Muller was a deeply spiritual person. From the vantage point of a top level, global statesperson he fostered a strong connection between spirituality and the political/cultural scene.

His book, NEW GENESIS, Shaping a Global Spirituality is dedicated to the innumerable good people of this planet who want to live in peace, friendship, freedom and justice, and to all peacemakers.

He devoted his life to those who gave him peace, happiness, and love, including his wife Barbara, his children Gisele, Solange, Francois and Philippe and spouses Maria Teresa and Michael, his grandchildren Henry, Curtis, Roberto, Adrian, Lucia, Robert, Christina, Alexander, Victoria, Sophie and Bridget, his stepchildren David and Barbara, all others in his family, and his innumerable friends around the world.

On September 20, 2010, the eve of the International Day of Peace, Robert passed in peace.
