In view of the highly preoccupying problems facing humanity
and our planet I recommend again what I recommended already
in 1972 during the visit of Aurelio Peccei and the Club of
Rome to the UN Secretary General, namely that the United
Nations must absolutely issue every year a State of the
World Report.
It was turned down at that time, the bureaucrats saying that all the Secretary General has been asked to do by governments is to make a yearly report on the work of the organization and not a State of the World Report. I still believe more than ever that there should be on the agenda of the General Assembly, a yearly item entitled State of the World and Prospects of the Future. Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume III - The Seasons of Life Chapter 7 - Return to Mother Earth Since everything changes and is in constant transformation, the question arises: what do we want to be transformed into? The way we want to be remembered might be the answer. And so it is with humanity.
