George Washington wrote:
"Be Americans. Let there be no sectionalism, no north, no south, east or west: you are all dependent one on another and should be one in union. In one word, be a nation: be Americans and be true to yourselves."
Today I am using his words and write: Dear human brothers and sisters of the world:
Please be humans. Let there be no nationalism, no sectionalism, no north, south, east or west. Be one, vast wonderful, peaceful, loving family.
You are all dependent one on another and should be one in union.
In one word, be humans and be true to yourselves.

WORD FOR THE DAY
An optimist isn't necessarily a blithe, sappy whistler in the dark. To be hopeful in bad times is not just foolishly romantic... If we remember those times and places where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us energy to act, and at least the possibility of sending this spinning top of a world in a different direction.
