[GMW #2981] World Treasury To Fund World & Local Common Services Providing Income To All Peoples Of The World

The main objective of money should no longer be to create new factories, new productions and more consumption but to permit the financing of world and local common services, especially public services and activities that would give an income to all peoples of the world. This thought came to me this morning when I saw several gardeners working on the grounds of the UN University for Peace. They create beauty, not anything essential, consumable but they receive an income which permits them to live and to have a family. Perhaps the World Treasury proposed by the Nobel Economics Prize winner Jan Tinbergen of Holland should be created.

One of the great lessons I have learned from my religion is to make an examination of conscience, a daily balance sheet of good and bad every evening before going to sleep.

It is a practice which should be followed by all religions and peoples of the Earth and made part of the new global, world-wide spirituality. It is a subject which the United Religions Initiative created after the second World Parliament of Religions should place on its agenda.
