I welcome this suggestion of an American citizen and friend, Roger Axford, in a letter to the President of the United States, namely to establish an Office of Peace Education as a new and important part of the Office of Education of the United States. All countries should do that.
Youth cannot complain that there is nothing left to do on this planet! The biggest, most challenging objectives are still to be attained: peace, justice, well-being for all, full human rights, proper Earth and human government, our harmony with nature, human unity, the preservation, salvation of the Earth, the preparation of the future and our harmony with the heavens.
If you do not believe me, please consult the Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potentials published by the Union of International Associations in Brussels. It lists more than 12,000 world problems!
These problems are at least as challenging as are sports, motorcycles and rock music.
To solve world problems, to build a better, orderly, just world must become the most beloved, highest sport of youth.
Amnesty International, Volunteer Corps, Greenpeace, Médecins sans frontières are wonderful examples. There are many others. Create more of them, new ones. I would love to see a World Youth Movement for the Total Disarmament and Demilitarization of the Planet and Youth Assemblies held parallel to all UN World Conferences, National Parliaments etc.... Please do it, I beg you. There are many ideas and suggestions to you in my 5000 Ideas and Dreams for a Better World.
