Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1 to 500
~ Idea 1266 ~    28 December 1997

Recently an author called Barbara to say that her husband wanted to tell everyone on the planet one thing each person could do before the year 2000 to make this world a better place and as hard as he thought he could not think of one.

Barbara suggested that if each person would plant a tree we would have 5.9 billion more trees on the planet and if they planted a fruit tree, countries like India would have more food.  I agree with this idea and suggest that each person, adults and children alike, plant a tree before the year 2000.

Once, in Caracas, Venezuela, where a UN conference was being held, I wanted to visit the Palacio dellas Bellas Artes.  When I got there I saw in front of it the aluminum sculpture of a woman who had her breasts cut up, her belly open, her body completely distorted.  I was horrified and thinking:
"What do the peasants from remote areas, the indigenous people from Orinoco think when they are offered such monstrosity as a symbol of beautiful art?"  I hope that it has been removed since then.  If not, it should.
