The United Nations owe their birth to the leadership of
two great men, Churchill and Roosevelt, later joined by
Stalin. They met in Teheran and Yalta to decide how to
smash Hitler, but also to plan for a peaceful, better
world after the war. They asked the heads of their armies
to come up with a post-war world security system. They did
it and proposed an International Security Organization
(ISO) which was then later reduced to a weak Security
Council within a vaster United Nations.
I recommend that the original ISO plan of the militaries be resuscitated and re-examined by the leaders of nations after fifty-five years of mixed results of the UN Security Council. We owe it to the peace of future generations in the 21st century and 3rd millennium. The result might be quite surprising.
