In view of the
daily increase
of the
destruction of
the Earth one
would expect
humans to be
very
concerned, to
use less Earth
resources and
to reduce
drastically
their
consumption
and ways of
life.
Unfortunately
little of the
sort is
happening. The
people
themselves are
thus digging
the graves of
their
descendants.
There is only one new good development: the population of the western world, which is consuming thirty times more than the population of the poor countries is expected to decline by 40 million to the year 2050. This
planet perhaps
needed a
bloodstream, a
nervous
system, a
brain, a heart
and a soul in
order to
become fully
conscious of
itself. So it
developed the
human species.
It took only a
short
evolutionary
period of a
million years
for humans to
reach the
stage when
today we can
perform these
tasks.
*But we must realize that we are not performing them for ourselves but for the Earth, as integral parts of the Earth and of the universe.
