Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
~ Idea 1291 ~
22 January 1998
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights a whole series of new human rights should be placed on the agenda of the United Nations. I have suggested a series of them in these 2000 ideas (see index). I would like also to stress the following major institutional reforms:

- create a World or UN Court of Human Rights on the model of the European Court of Human Rights;

- create regional courts of human rights on each continent.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II Chapter 11 - Of Gratitude
In the end, it is all a question of joyful understanding and surrender to the greatness of God and His Creation.

[GMW #2412] Earthism and Humanism Take Precedence Over Nationalism [and Corporatism]

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
~ Idea 1290 ~
21 January 1998
In all matters earthism and humanism must now be given precedence over nationalism. This is the imperative new phase of evolution. Nationalism is the gravest, costliest, retarding obstacle to human progress. It makes no sense any more except for its historical, cultural aspects which can be beautifully preserved and cherished as part of the world's diversity.

At the legal level, national law must give way to Earth Law and Universal Human Law. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights should be the first UN instrument to be given world legal enforcement through a World Court of Human Rights.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II Chapter 11 - Of Gratitude
How wonderful it is to be thanked, for example when I received this nice message from a reader on Valentine Day:
"Thank you for all you have done and are doing to bring the consciousness of God's peace and love to this world."

Carol wrote:
"Last year the library at school had a little book sale, I bought a copy of 'Paradise Earth.'

Robert's ideas are so relevant to what is occurring in this world today and
his optimistic perspective is very inspiring."

Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
~ Idea 1289 ~
20 January 1998
I suggest that all former Ambassadors, Permanent Representatives of nations to the UN should create a world association and offer their views to the General Assembly 2000 on how the UN should be strengthened, transformed or replaced by a better world organization. They should do that thinking for the future of their children and grandchildren.

Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living,
Volume II Chapter 11 - Of Gratitude
When I write early in the morning it is with an immense feeling of joy and love.
To write is my form of prayer, of thanking God for His magnificent gift of life.

Dearest Barbara and GMW readers.

Robert's birthday is coming up soon, March 11th.

His energy was a Pisces as mine. We are dreamers and love life because it is our lab and we get to explore, design, co-create, play, be inspired, love, teach and learn, like everyone. But it is precisely the IMAGINATION that in its own way set us apart from other beings.

Imagination enable us to form and shape "realities" in our mind that can be later materialized. We can employ imagination in a very constructive way...

Imagination IN love.  All possible worlds that we co-create with our imagination-in-love are incubated dreams and that's how we give birth to love. Using Robert's words, that's how we give birth to a better world.

The world of "facts" isn't the only world that exist. Give birth to LOVE with your imagination-in-love.

This coming up March 11th, craft energy with your heart, intentionally. Set aside some time and dream... to give birth to a better world.

We love you Robert. Love never leaves us. :)

Love and light!
Katherine

19 January 1998
On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the member countries of the European Union should introduce a resolution in the UN General Assembly asking that the UN should create a World Court of Human Rights, following and expanding on the example of the European Union which has created a European Court of Human Rights.

Sometimes when I see nature, people, cars, airplanes, buildings, I stop walking and I say to myself:

"What an incredible globe this is, turning at 1,666 kilometers per hour with so much life on it, with people standing on it, their heads pointing like antennae into all the directions of the universe, with leaves, plants, and algae avidly absorbing the sun's energy and giving us oxygen to breathe and nourishment. And to think that we are the only planet of our sun, and perhaps of the entire universe, to possess life!

How can we not stand in endless gratitude and awe before such a miracle?"

~~~~ Good News of the Day:
What do Elizabeth Taylor, Roald Dahl, Marilyn Monroe, Neil Armstrong and Barack Obama have in common, besides being famous? Each of them wrote touching letters of gratitude, printed here in their original writing. For example, once upon a time (1989), a little girl named Amy sent a bottle of colored water, oil and glitter to Roald Dahl, who knew right away that this was a dream in a bottle inspired by his book, The BFG. In response, the author penned this short note to his 7-year-old fan: "I must write a special letter and thank you for the dream in the bottle. You are the first person in the world who has sent me one of these and it intrigued me very much. I also liked the dream..." [More]
It would be useful if UNESCO could publish a world report on existing world universities, continental universities (American, European, Asian, African, Pacific, Middle-Eastern Universities) and other global universities dealing with major segments of the Earth and of humanity (the seas and oceans, the biosphere, the atmosphere, the mountains, the waters, the polar caps, the deserts, etc.; the human population, sexes, races, age groups, longevity, religions, cultures, languages, etc.). Such a survey would reveal the overconcentration on national Universities, no longer in step with the globalization of knowledge, problems, professions and management.
The International Association of University Presidents could request or undertake such a survey.
Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
~ Idea 1286 ~
17 January 1998
There begin to be on this planet bi-national or international parks. For instance there is a Costa-Rican-Panama international park. The world should know that there exists also a first world park: several thousand acres of primeval tropical forests donated to the UN University for Peace in Costa Rica. It would be worthwhile for the United Nations and environmental institutions to see how such a treasure could be opened to plant and animal scientists, become a highpoint of education and model of a well preserved and managed world park also offered as highpoint of world ecological tourism.
A body, a fantastic body was given to me. I must be grateful for it, take good care of it, not damage and endanger it.
A mind, a fantastic mind was given to me. I must use it to think right and to help humanity. I must take good care of it, not damage it.
Nature, God's fantastic nature, was given to me. I was born into it. I must be grateful for it, take good care of it, not damage it.
Society, my family, education, healthpitals, museums, books, etc. were given to me. I must be grateful for them, contribute to them, not damage them.
Humanity, the United Nations, the world's institutions were given to me. They help me to live in peace in a global world. I must thank God for them, contribute my life and peace to them, take good care and not damage them.
Idea Dream - Robert Muller's Ideas 1001 to 1500
~ Idea 1285 ~
16 January 1998
The private enterprise, financial, marketing, advertising capitalist system claims that it will bring prosperity to the entire world.
Well, the Secretary General of the UN reported to the last UN General Assembly that 100 nations on this planet have become poorer in the last fifteen years and that 1.3 billion people of this Earth have a daily income of only one dollar.
The UN also reports that world-wide and within all nations the rich are getting richer and the poor poorer.
When will someone at long last stand up and challenge the present free enterprise system?
~~~~ Good News of the Day:
Sometimes the greatest lessons come unexpectedly, and from the smallest moments. 7-year-old Owen Shure's heart-warming letter to a football player is a perfect example. The Twittersphere buzzed with reactions to the San Francisco 49ers' Kyle Williams fumbling the ball in a tight moment in the playoffs. Some responses were downright vitriolic. But hopefully Kyle also saw this touching story from Ben Mankiewicz: 'He was crying, saying of Kyle Williams, with the distinct sobs of a seven-year-old between each word, "But... why... did he... have to... fumble?" [...] Trying to get his son to stop crying, Michael asked him, "If you feel this way, how sad do you think Kyle Williams is?" Owen paused a second, then asked his dad, "Can I write him a letter to make him feel better?"' Nisha Srinivasan shares her reflections on Kyle's letter. [More]
