The greatest service the military could render the world would be to devise a water-tight world security system and then to dissolve or transform themselves into the world's and humanity's security, peace and environment servants.

beginning my third decade in the pure heart of the americas!
i first came in 1989, and in 17 years have not crossed
a national border.

today i began writing my life story,
beginning with my refusal to participate
with the viet nam war.
i was awarded conscientious objector status
in 1971 as a catholic. (idea 264.)

my civilian service for my country was as a social worker
for the visually impaired ( blind ). this changed my life.

No one should ever forget that the United Nations is the first world-wide institution ever created by humanity in all history.

In it all dreams, thoughts and efforts of humanity are coming together, are examined, discussed and sooner or later implemented.

It is our greatest chance to achieve peace and human fulfillment on this planet and to save the planet itself.

This requires a complete change of attitude from the people and from national governments towards it, a real quantum leap of understanding, knowledge, love, support and expectations. Please people of the world, contribute to it.

There is a lot of talk of United Nations reform. But what about national governments reform?

I recommend a World Commission of Eminent Personalities on National Government Reform.

It should bring about more unity in the way governments are organized, more responsive to the needs of the people and of the planet, and more coordinated with the United Nations and its agencies.

It should look into the colossal waste of national military and other staggering unnecessary expenditures. The fiscal situation of nation-states is a scandal.

There is no real, world economy. There is enormous world waste and duplication.

Why are young people so beautiful, so healthy?
Why do young people heal so quickly?

Simply because nature wants them to reproduce at optimum capacity.

Why are the elderly less beautiful, less vigorous and slow to heal?

Because, like withering flowers, plants and any other long living creatures they have lost their reproducing function and are no longer of the same use to nature.

But nature has a use for every age. If we find a way to be of service to it, to the progress of life, to evolution, nature will say: "this elderly person is still useful. I have no interest in losing him or her."

As a result we will be shinier, happier, more vigorous and will live longer.

We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us.
