A whole new field and era of global philanthropy and gaiaphily (love for the Earth) should be opened on this planet.

Many world awards should be given to international agencies; global foundations should be established for the benefit of all humanity, for the poor, the handicapped, abandoned children, etc., and the preservation of the planet. Many international awards should be given in ceremonies at the United Nations and at the headquarters of its specialized agencies and world programs. This would provide maximum visibility to philanthropists and inspire others.

There is nothing more beautiful, more heart-warming, more rewarding than to constantly learn more about the miracle of human life and the miracles of our Earth.

On February 19th, 2006 I read something that had such great value to me so I've kept it ever since.

It was a quote by Katherine Petersson, posted in Good Morning World #883. She said,

"Peace is not won by those who fiercely guard their differences, but by those who with open minds and hearts seek out connections."

Up until that moment I used to say that I love diversity. Not true! I love that which builds bridges between our seeming differences. My mind IS open and I find a reason to get up in the morning when I know I have heart-connections with people.

I want to say thank you, thank you, thank you Katherine Peterson for putting such beautiful, clear words on something so important. Missing out on true connection with each other is so unnecessary when we can

"open our minds and hearts and seek connections."

I recommend that each head of state and head of a world agency follow the example of President Franklin Roosevelt and surround himself or herself with idea-men and idea-women who should be men and women of deep love and spirituality.

I learned with surprise that indigenous people come to the Robert Muller school in Arlington to learn how to establish such schools. After a moment of reflection I got the answer: with such an education they can jump straight into a modern cosmology, identical to their own, but filled and supported by science, and would not lose theirs as they do when adopting limited national educations.

I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.

Each year, on the third Tuesday of September, the UN General Assembly opens its annual session to review the fate of the world and to prepare a better future.

The first act of the Assembly is for all delegates to stand up and to devote a minute of silence for prayer or meditation.

My dream is that all the peoples of the world would join them in that minute of communion in prayer or meditation, to encourage their delegates and to ask for the blessings of God for their awesome work.

This is why the third Tuesday of September has been proclaimed International Day of Peace for the entire world. But how many people know it and have a prayer for the UN? Please do, because prayers move the mountains.
