Most often it is the contrary: more buying, spending, wanting, traveling and bigger modern lodging. Words and ideas of happiness, philosophy and fulfillment are almost totally absent from governmental language. Business and more and more producing, selling and buying seem to be the rules. * Robert's The Miracle, Joy and Art of Living, Volume II Chapter 8 Of Health At our monthly luncheons we used to have in New York, Norman Cousins and I often pondered on two important experiences in our lives: the way he healed himself through a cure of laughter, and the way I escaped from the Gestapo during the war thanks to Dr. Emile Coué's method of auto-suggestion. We both decided to write these stories in books which became best-sellers. Ever since then I use the Coué method and jokes and laughter as an adjuvant to good health. Someone should develop a science of good humor therapy. There should also be a nature therapy: the healthy effects of being or living in the midst of nature. There should also be a music therapy: the beautiful effects of hearing good, harmonious, elevating, healing music. I applied it in the Alzheimer home in Costa Rica where my poor wife was taken care of. I played to the patients music from their youth and from their country of origin. The effects were magical. I also noticed that praying together the rosary has good effects on the patients. May this statement concern the UN which is more than 60 years old. I propose the following reforms: Make the UN the United World Organization (UWO), composed of two major organizations: An All Earth Organization (AEO) And an All Humanity Organization (AHO), The UN has done a lot concerning humanity's problems and future, but very little regarding the Earth's future, except the environment. He writes: "The uncommonly great increase in the number of traffic accidents, the growing technological development of many countries especially in the field of motorization, and the inadequate development of activities and propaganda to prevent traffic accidents; and also the incomplete treatment of victims of such accidents – make it necessary to work out a special United Nations project that would help to prevent this 'calamity'. All United Nations agencies should join in that work; and all the directly interested countries or private institutions participating in the insurance of individuals against accidents, also those producing or renting cars (e.g. Avis, Hertz, etc.), should too."
